I'm experiencing playback errors or getting an "access denied" message while using a VPN

Why must I disable my VPN to stream a show?

The CW is a US-only services, and as such our licensing requires that we restrict availability outside of the United States. Our system detects when a device is connected to a VPN or other software that may reroute your internet traffic outside of your current region. You will need to disable these services on your device to stream The CW content within the US. 

How do I disable my VPN?

The best way to do this is to make sure your device's network settings are set to “Automatic.” You can also try restoring your device's default network settings. If neither of these options work, please contact the device manufacturer or your ISP for assistance. 

I’m using a VPN for legitimate reasons.

Since the exact purpose or use for any VPN cannot be determined by The CW, our system is required to block any use of them. Please disable the VPN service to continue streaming The CW.
