Basic Troubleshooting for Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick

There are a series of troubleshooting steps you can take to ensure you are receiving an optimal experience on The CW app for Fire TV. 

Check your internet connection.

Go to Settings > System > Network on your Amazon Fire TV to check that your connection is active and the signal strength is stable.

Make sure your app is up to date.

We release new versions of our app regularly that fix known issues as well as provide new features.  

  1. From the Amazon Fire TV home, scroll down to the Apps section. 
  2. Highlight The CW on Fire TV.  If an update is available, an Update button will appear under the icon. 
  3. Select Update > Update App Now

Make sure your device's OS is up to date.

  1. From the Amazon Fire TV home screen, go to Settings > System > About.
  2. Select Software Version > Check For System Update

Restart the app.  

  1. From the Fire TV home page, select Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications.  
  2. Find and select The CW on Fire TV.  
  3. Select Force Close and then Launch

Clear the app cache. 

  1. From the Fire TV home page, select Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications.  
  2. Find and select The CW on Fire TV.
  3. Select Clear Cache

Uninstall and reinstall The CW.

  1. From the Fire TV home page, select Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications.  
  2. Find and select The CW on Fire TV.  
  3. Select Uninstall
  4. Go to Apps and reinstall the app.
