Basic Troubleshooting for iPhone and iPad

If you’re experiencing playback or performance issues with The CW app on your iPhone or iPad, try the following troubleshooting steps to help get things back on track:

1. Update The CW App

We regularly release updates that fix known issues and improve overall performance.

  • Open the App Store, search for The CW, and tap Update if a new version is available.

2. Update Your Device’s Operating System

Running the latest version of iOS helps ensure the app functions correctly.

  • Go to Settings > General > Software Update and install any available updates.

3. Test Your Internet Connection

A strong and stable internet connection is essential for streaming.

  • Go to Settings > Wi-Fi to ensure you're connected to a working network.

  • Temporarily disconnect from Wi-Fi and test playback using mobile data.

    • If the app works on mobile data and not on Wi-Fi, your Wi-Fi network may be blocking video playback. Check your Wi-Fi router settings to ensure there are no ad blockers or VPNs enabled, which can interfere with app functionality.

4. Close Other Apps

Running multiple apps at once can slow down performance.

  • Swipe up from the bottom (or double-tap the Home button) to open the app switcher.

  • Swipe up on other open apps to close them.

  • Relaunch The CW app and try again.

5. Reinstall The CW App

A fresh install can often resolve persistent issues.

  • From your Home screen, press and hold The CW app icon until it begins to shake.

  • Tap the X to delete it.

  • Open the App Store, search for The CW, and reinstall it.
